Generosity is FORE everyone!

A man swings a golf club powerfully while on an outdoor golf course.

It is that time of year again where GOLF is on my brain.  Not just because I enjoy golfing with the ladies on Tuesday evenings, but because it is a great way of giving back to our amazing community while having fun.

At InteleCONNECT, generosity is one of our 5 core values.

Generosity:  Enthusiasm to give our time, talent, and treasure to benefit others (each other, our customers, or the community).  Intentionally giving without expecting anything in return.

Sponsoring golf tournaments in the summer months is just one of the ways we do it.  We also host a group of customers on third base terrace at the ROX every year.  While these are ways for us to show our appreciation and give back to the community, it is also a way for us to unwind a bit, have fun, and enjoy a little sunshine and conversation.

For several years, Lisa has been sharing via our monthly newsletter various events happening in our community that are focused on our non-profits and customers.  If you were not aware of this, please feel free to share your events with us and she’ll do her best to add them to our newsletter.  There is typically always a way to show your support and become engaged in our communities.  While supporting the non-profits or attending fundraisers gives us that feel good mojo, there are many other ways to show generosity.

One instance is small businesses working together to support other small businesses.

Many in downtown St Cloud work together on having an event to have a greater impact for them all.  Our St. Cloud Chamber had a saying “Chamber Works”.  If you attend events, use your networking skills, and put in some effort to do work with others, you will be surprised how it can benefit you in the long run as well.  When was the last time you decided to go to the locally owned coffee shop or hardware store to do business vs the more nationally known outfits?  I love it when Jules’ Bistro supports Anna Maries Alliance, and we get to sponsor the Lift Up the Ladies event.

Our team has been a sponsor in different way for 15 years when Jacobs Financial hosts a golf tournament to support non-profits like the COP House.  We watch for other businesses that are doing the same, and we try to support those businesses when we have a need. How about those local Spaghetti dinners raising money for a local family in need.  Time and again we’ve watched so many small businesses come together to sponsor, and if we all do what we can, we all get to be a part of something bigger.

Summer is right around the corner and many of us will be enjoying the great Minnesota Outdoors with friends or family.  I would encourage all of you to think small…small business that is.  Shop at your local Meat Market, stock up at the local farmers market, buy your flowers from the local greenhouses, have a beverage at your local watering hole.  You get the idea right?

From all of us small businesses, we truly do THANK YOU for your generosity!
