You may have heard the saying, “a body in motion stays in motion”, well apparently the same is true for a business. That is right! InteleCONNECT is on the move again. Our trend has been to outgrow our current space every 2 years, and so in July we’ll be moving to a bigger location, in Sauk Rapids.
With the pending move comes the “TO DO list” with moving. Here are some of things we’ve noticed as reoccurring “to dos” in our experience:
- What internet options do we have at the new facility and how quickly can we get them installed?
DID YOU KNOW – business moves take some preplanning to ensure your internet is up and operational when you move your furniture into your new space? I’ve lost count of the number of times we have had a customer call and inform us they are moving…tomorrow, this week or even next week, and asked us to assist them in their move.
DID YOU KNOW – There are locations where you can’t get cable modem or broadband services? Unfortunately, we sometimes find out a business is moving to a location that doesn’t have cable modem or broadband services, so we need to look at Fiber for Internet.
DID YOU KNOW – Fiber installations can typically be 60 – 90 days out? Even cable/broadband can be out longer than a week to install. For business customers, it is not as easy as going to pick up a router at the local store and calling in to active it on the day of move like it is for residential services.
- Less is more! Paper, that is! Before we move that big filing cabinet again, we are attempting to go paperless, or at least significantly reduce our paper files to have less paper.
DID YOU KNOW – While scanning and preserving our important documents, the need for secure storage is more important than it has ever been. How do you protect against data breaches?
DID YOU KNOW – Although we, and many of your businesses, have a brick-and-mortar building to call home, many are still working remotely. So, how do businesses ensure that you have access to the information needed, while also securing those “remote” network environments?
DID YOU KNOW Cloud based SaaS (Software as a Service) solutions with a single sign-on experience are an option to make sure that as you grow, you only have to manage one interface for each team member. Long are the days of downloading software on the computer and making sure the license is up to date. Also, you can customize each team member with only the licenses they need to do their job. Sally in sales may have very different license needs than Adam in Accounting or Ingrid in IT.
- With a bigger space, we will also run into bigger needs to make sure that all areas of the building are accessible to the internet. Making sure that we have a mesh network with enough access points for a seamless flow and dead spot avoidance. And the physical security? Do we want to manage it ourselves or just outsource for someone else to manage?
As we get ready for our move, I invite you all to our July 14th Lunch Gig/panel discussion on the top technology trends for 2021. We will be sharing what is new in wireless, wired, cloud and security solutions. We’ll be answering all your questions and making sure you and your business are IN THE KNOW!
- Who will do the heavy lifting? Seriously, every 2 years we are older than the last move, so it’s time to call in the experts. Professional movers to do what they do best, so we can do what we do best – help our clients with their telecom and technology needs.
DID YOU KNOW – You don’t have to know everything, you just have to know who to call. Working with a telecom agency like InteleCONNECT gives you peace of mind, the knowledge to make informed decisions for your business, products and services that fit your needs now and in the future. We know what questions to ask, what’s available where you want to do business, and contacts to business professionals to assist you in getting it all done when you need it.
